To be a member, a person must support SERAG's two objectives:

  • enhance the long-term ecological health of the Swan River Estuary A-Class Nature Reserves and adjacent river parks for the benefit of native flora and fauna, and for the enjoyment of current and future generations of the Perth Community.

  • consistent with the first object, support the managing authorities and those organisations involved in the restoration of the natural environment of the Swan River Estuary.

By becoming a member, a person is expressing support for our objectives, and thereby strengthening our capacity to advocate on behalf of the Estuary and to attract vital funding for restoration work. These alone are great reasons to join!

Aside from participating in bush care tasks, what could I do to help SERAG?

A wide-ranging variety of tasks:

  • updating and maintaining the SERAG website

  • keeping a photographic record of the work we do along the foreshore and highlighting the positive changes we make

  • assisting with library displays and special events like World Migratory Bird Day

  • writing grant applications and loading the data on to our document management system to ensure we have accurate records to acquit the grants we receive

  • collecting plants from local native plant nurseries and delivering them to the rehabilitation sites

  • assisting with catering for our morning teas, especially when we are hosting a corporate group

  • bookkeeping to maintain our financial records

All these activities help SERAG achieve its aims. If you believe you have a skill or interest that may be of help to us in some way, please get in touch!

Contact a leader listed on the Calendar page to come and see for yourself if you will enjoy taking part in SERAG’s in-person bush care activities rehabilitating the Marine Park foreshores.
